Budd Schulberg wrote a book on the early days of Hollywood, Moving Pictures: Memories of a Hollywood Prince,
which I really enjoyed. I didn't know he'd worked with John Ford's documentary unit, and that he arrested Leni Riefenstahl to get her to identify war criminals from allied film footage for the Nuremberg trials! Of course he ended up on the stand himself later testifying before the HUAC.
